When you serve 25 clean aces, how can you not win?
Still there were some tense moments there, especially in the fourth set when I shut off the TV not wanting to watch Federer lose. But of course he bounced back in the fifth set, how could he not? What a wonderful evening of some really great tennis amid good weather and Borg himself watching.
I found this clip on Youtube today, the song isn't good but the maker has edited together some fine moments indeed.
As a kid, when I played tennis for the state and was nationally ranked (all 35 frailweight kilos of me!) I once played a bet match with an American pro and won. The winnings were a Donnay that Borg himself had used and given him. I treasure the racquet and don't have a picture of it with me here in Mumbai, so I hope this one (taken off the net to show you what it looks like) will do instead.

didnt know that ive got a real talented sibling...eh? boy, am impressed!
Lynn, it was a pleasure to watch Federer serve those aces. They helped him at many crucial stages. It was a match Federer deserved to win. At TTC, we had a wide screen viewing of the men's and women's final. Foster's supplying members with free beer added to the enjoyment. It was a match Federer deserved to win. We plan to invite you to TTC with to play an exhibition match with your Donnay racket to commemorate your winning the south-west india title in our courts.
That's very kind of you Shaji, I would be honoured to visit the TTC again with my racquet, but unfortunately will not be able to play. I stopped seven years ago after a thyroid tumor caused a bit of a problem for me. But I will definitely drop in on my next trip to T'rum, it would be nice to meet you in person, and catch up with Bhadra too, unless ofocurse you come by to see Gerard first!
Meraj, what do you play? In this life I mean?
being the younger sibling, i was rightly into table tennis (last good show was at ymca, colaba in 2002).
i also play scrabbles (no titles there) and harmonica(have had some performances and original compositions).
what music are you into...apart from 'raindrops keep falling...'
Don't worry Ma'am..let me come to Mumbai and trouble you again...hehehe..and then lets see how much u miss me...hehe..just kidding...
I am also playing tennis...
I also am a regular visitor of your blog and there were some nice pics on your blog

Prachi
A visit to Gerard and his Museum is long overdue.Bhadra would definitely love to see you. And TTC would be honoured by your presence. It's a disappointment that you won't be able to play in the TTC courts but i am sure u will be reminded of the good old days while u r with us.
played and lost more tennis matches in the 10 years that i followed it as a religion. this years, wimbledon was treat though. it reminded me of goran v/s rafter of 2001. a genuine borg? can i be a part of your will?
But Nadal was good wasn't he? but somehow knew Roger would win...reminded me a lot of the Steffi-Arantxa Sanchez Wimbledon final of 1996 (or was in '95)..a marathon match which eventually Steffi won. Can't access the video u have attached anymore :-(
