A historic day

Later this evening, people all over the United States will queue up to the i-phone, one of the most highly promoted and publicised launches this century. We have to wait for a few months before it hits our shows leagally, and even then we aren't sure who the service provider will be now that AT&T is no longer a part owner of our client Idea Cellular.

Later this evening, the media planning and buying fraternity in Mumbai will be gathered at the Emvies, an awards show we have developed serious doubts about. Still, the Idea ringtone innovation just might win, who knows! It surely deserves to.

And lastly today is the day when Lintas India has finally become a 100% Interpublic Group owned agency. Welcome to a whole new world. "Turn it on".

It's an historic day for u professionally as Lintas becomes part of IPG. iPhone, as Steve Job has put it is 5 years ahead of time. the combination of all portable technologies, camera, mobile phone, web browser, video and music player in one instrument is revolutionary in terms of communication. technological improvements after the first edition will have to be watched. it is expected in India only next year. let's wait till then.Kudos to the people who made it possible.

Legally or otherwise, the iPhone in its current avatar is a little more than a fancy paperweight nee brick in our country. Till such time a service provider-free, GSM version is launched plans of acquiring it through the grey market or otherwise is futile. They say a march 2008 Asia launch is on the cards. Hopefully by then the bugs will be squashed.

As far as Lintas becoming a 100% IPG agency, it is indeed historic.
Should I say congratulations?

On another note, your footprint on my blog was delightful.
